Artist Statement
Flaming Black Butterfly is a Photography studio that I run. At this studio, I offer many different options in photography Nature, Landscape, Pet, Light Painting, and sometimes Portraiture. What I offer is the ability to purchase shoots of specific locations of your choosing, or images that I have already taken available for purchasing. The images that I take can be used in a multipurpose way. They can be used on the wall, as a screen saver and many other ways. As you can see by my biography I can do more than just what is shown on my site, so reach out if there is another form or type of photography you are interested in I may have an image already there for you just waiting for you to purchase.

In 2014 I graduated the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate’s degree in photography and currently will complete my Bachelors Degree in 2017; however I have always had a passion for art. Since I could pick up a pencil I have been drawing and sketching, then I found my way to painting and photography. I have been sketching for 20 plus years, painting for just as long and taking photography images for almost as long. My parents have always been a big influence in my work and inspired me to dream big.
My mother had provided me with my first camera when I was a teenager and from then on I took so many images that I am still developing rolls of film I find. My father has always supported my dreams from when I was young until now. I recently discovered that my love of photography has been passed down to me by my father who also loved to take pictures. I have a supportive family and loving husband whom believes in me. Since then I have upgraded to a digital camera and now to a DSLR camera. When shooting images, I take images that are beautiful and some that are odd. The odd images I then alter to create digitally altered pieces, I never see a photograph as a bad or unusable image because I can still use it somehow. In photography I am primarily a Pet (animal), Nature, and Landscape photographer, however I do occasionally do Portrait images.
When I paint I always strive to create unusual images, sometimes the paintings have meaning and show something but there are times that one can get lost in my works. I love to create intricate and wild abstract pieces that keep your head turning. I work primarily with Acrylics, and sometimes use Acryla Gouache when creating my pieces. I also like to work a lot with glow in the dark paint to create a surprising effect to the paintings.
It is my goal to show everyone my different styles, in both photography and painting. I have put a lot of time into each of the paintings I have created and some even have a story behind them. In my photography many of the images can bring back a memory for me, or even for you, but there are quite a few that make you ask what the meaning is. Those images are meant to be there, to keep you thinking about it and each time you view them you will think of something new.
